TerraCycle for Shaftesbury, Dorset is a scheme in which we recycle waste which would otherwise end up in landfill. Such as Crisp Packets and pet food packaging. All waste is sent to TerraCycle who clean and shred waste and form into pellets; which are then used to make things like park benches and children’s playgrounds. For every kg of waste we send off we earn money for Charity. We are currently supporting Kicks Count & Dorset Mind.
What We Do
TerraCycle for Shaftesbury, Dorset in which we recycle waste that would otherwise end up in landfill. We recycle things like Crisp Packets and Pet Food packaging and for every kg of waste we send off, we earn money for our chosen charities.
Crisp Packets
We can take any brand or crisp packets and the outer multipack packaging to be recycled! Please ensure your crisp packets are clean, dry and empty of any crumbs! Please also do not tie your crisp packets. Please keep in mind it is only crisp packets that we accept and not items made from the same material (e.g nut packaging)
Pet Food Packaging
We can accept any brand of pet food packaging such as; plastic biscuit packets, plastic treat packets and pet food sachets. Please ensure your packets are clean and dry and pet food pouches MUST be rinsed and dried before dropping off. It’s really important this is done to prevent any smells, attracting any unwanted rodents and to ensure TerraCycle award points for our chosen charities.
Confectionary
We can accept any brand of confectionary wrappers as long as they are made from flexible plastic and not paper/cardboard. Please ensure your recycling is empty from any crumbs before dropping off.
Oral Care
We can accept any old plastic toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes (except the plastic pump style ones), plastic packaging from new toothbrushes. Please NO floss, razors or anything that isn’t listed below.
Biscuit, Cracker & Cake Packaging
We can accept any brand of biscuit, cracker and cake packaging. Please ensure everything is free of crumbs and food residue before dropping off.
Home Cleaning
This waste stream is very specific and we can only take on selected products. Please see image below for details. It’s important that if the item is not listed above it will not be accepted. Please get in touch with any questions if you are unsure. Things like shampoo tubes, baby and facial wipe packets will NOT be accepted.
